When Snapchat founder and CEO Evan Spiegel announced his engagement to former Victoria’s Secret Angel Miranda Kerr in 2016, it was further proof that techies can land the girls of their dreams too. But then again, Spiegel — who was named the youngest billionaire in the world by Forbes in 2015 — is hardly your average computer dweeb.
Spiegel and Kerr’s nuptials made the most of digital innovation: the Australian model first shared the news via Snapchat (of course). The ring, however, was pure old-school refinement. As Kerr said of Spiegel in a 2015 interview: “He’s 25, but acts like he’s 50. He’s not out partying… We’d rather stay home, go to bed early.”
Spiegel popped the question with a round-brilliant solitaire—a classic choice—flanked by tapered baguettes on a platinum band. With its subtle, modern edge and the graphic lines of the baguettes, it’s a style that Kerr will no doubt treasure for the rest of her life (and if she doesn’t, Spiegel could pretty much buy her a mountain of new rings whenever he feels like it.)
