Real-Life Success Story: In-Law Drama Solved

Score one for the good guys.

A few months ago, a reader asked us for help about the guestlist. He thought that most of the “overage” was because of an annoying mother-in-law. At the time, we gave him this advice, here.

He’s back with good news.

The latest report:

“First, we sat down and looked, and [the guest list problem] was almost entirely because of my mother-in-law.  She had added in a bunch of relatives that my fiancée had never even met.  On top of it, she had put some coworkers and colleagues that she wanted to schmooze on there, as well as some of her friends that she thought should be invited.

Here is the great part:  My fiancée stepped up and flat out told her mom no.  It was while we were having dinner when her mom was in town one night, and I almost choked on my food because I was so shocked.  She just said that she didn’t want any of them to be there, and that was that.

So there it is.  I love my fiancée to death, but this is one of those moments that just remind me all the more why I want to marry her.”
