Over-The-Top Hotel Suites In Montreal

View Map

When it comes to hotel suites, Montreal doesn’t get as much attention as Toronto or Vancouver, where the hotels are over the top, drenched in luxury, excel in service and offer swank suites to party down. Despite Montreal’s indisputable party reputation, there are few high-energy hotels that fall in line with this vibe. Thankfully, there are some. These places offer suites that are as chilled out as they are party friendly. Booking one of these suites–many of which are surprisingly affordable–is the only true way to shack up for the weekend.

  • W Montreal

Extreme Wow Suite W Montreal, Rue du Square-Victoria, Montreal, QC, Canada
    View Map

Without a doubt, the “partiest” hotel in Montreal is the W, right on the border of Old Montreal and the downtown financial district. It’s a magnet to bachelor parties, thanks to its clubby atmosphere, sleek rooms and young-skewing guests. None of the rooms are soundproof, so it sorta feels like one big hotel party on the weekends. It’s slim on amenities (no pool) but as long as the booze flows, it’s easy to look past this. Check into the Extreme Wow Suite, a comfortable, 1,000-square-foot pad completely decked out with glass walls, hardwood floors, high ceilings, a nice size living room and an outdoor terrace that looks over Square Victoria Park. It’s unarguably the best room in the house and not a rip off at about $2k a night.

  • Zero One Hotel

Living Suite 1 Boulevard René-Lévesque Est, Montreal, QC, Canada
    View Map

There’s a way to live large without breaking the bank. Case in point: the Living Suite at Zero One Hotel. This budget-friendly hotel might not be the Four Seasons, but it’s a stylish boutique for those who’d rather spend all their money on strippers. It’s sort of a hotel gem, actually, considering how much effort they put into it looking better than a Marriott. The only proper way to stay at this hotel is by booking the Living Suite. The 600-square-foot, apartment style unit is pretty amazing. First, it’s two bedrooms (one with a sofa bed), so you can squeeze a bunch of people here. Second, it has a lounge area, a dining nook, a wet bar, a kitchen, windows that actually open, two flat-screen TVs and contemporary furnishings. It sort of feels like a really nice Airbnb, actually, except you have 24-hour service and housekeeping. The best thing of all is that the suite will only set you back about $270 a night.

  • Fairmont The Queen Elizabeth

John Lennon & Yoko Ono Suite Fairmont The Queen Elizabeth, Montreal, René-Lévesque Boulevard West, Montreal, QC, Canada
    View Map

Nothing gets as posh or convenient like Fairmont the Queen Elizabeth. The hotel is connected to the Montreal Central Station and Montreal Underground, and there’s also an indoor lap pool, a jacuzzi, a steam room and an awesome restaurant. This massive hotel (950 rooms) has the works. Sure, it might feel like a convention is taking place literally every hour of the day, but you can’t beat the location and services. Renovated and reopened in 2017, it’s more luxurious than ever. Book the John Lennon & Yoko Ono suite—the site of the couple’s famous “Bed In”—and relive a little rock history.

  • Ritz Carlton Montreal

Royal Suite Ritz-Carlton Montreal, Sherbrooke Street West, Montreal, QC, Canada
    View Map

You can’t go wrong with a Ritz Carlton, especially the one in Montreal. This hotel dating back to 1912 is insanely baller. It’s elegant and historic, and it feels like a painting (the architecture and design here is a masterpiece). It’s the type of place you’ll want to wear dress shoes rather than sneakers (staff are dressed to the nines), and the grand lobby, rooftop pool and even outdoor garden are taken better care of than most hotels in Montreal. The grandest suite in the entire city is the three-bedroom Royal Suite. The sheer size alone (4,700 square feet) is staggering. It’s fancy as hell with wall-sized paintings, fireplaces, chandeliers, heated marble floor, four (yes four) bathrooms and insane city views. It will set you back about 7 grand a night, but no bachelor party will be as baller as this. If you need to downsize, go for the Executive Suite, a 1,000-square-foot corner room that’s only a grand a night.

Le Germaine is a Canadian chain, known for stylish interiors and cool young staff, and it has a following with professional types who lose the tie on weekends. For $700 a night, The Apartment Suite at Le Germaine Montreal is one of the best deals for a presidential suite in Montreal.
