The Most Absurdly Lavish Honeymoon Suites In Paris

When it comes to romantic hotels, Paris is the crème de la crème. There’s no other city in the world with hotels that are as seductive, luxurious and romantic. These five hotel suites at famous Paris hotels are where honeymooning couples go to get wined and dined, pampered, and feel like French royalty (without the whole guillotine thing, of course).

  • Hôtel Plaza Athénée

Hôtel Plaza Athénée, Avenue Montaigne, Paris, France
    View Map

Hôtel Plaza Athénée is a legendary hotel: super historic, super posh, and super romantic. It’s palatial, it’s opulent, it’s got haute couture, and it’s absolutely jaw-dropping. There’s an Alain Ducasse restaurant, a Christian Dior spa, and a perfect location on Avenue Montaigne (which is home to all the high-end designer shops). You’ll be blown away by the decadent lobby—but wait until you walk into your suite. There’s a handful of Presidential/Signature Suites here, but the fanciest is the Eiffel Suite. You’ll enter a suite (from one of the 3 separate entrances) fit for royalty with a separate living room, a massive bathroom, a huge terrace with views of the Eiffel Tower, and a bottle of Krug waiting for you. Of course, for all that luxury, the suite will set you back about $12,000 a night. If you want to budget down, go for a Junior Suite (without the Eiffel Tower views) for $1,600 a night. It’s 600 square feet and still crazy lavish.

  • Le Meurice

Le Meurice, Rue de Rivoli, Paris, France
    View Map

Le Meurice isn’t just a famous hotel: it’s a bucket-list destination. Every person in the world wants that Le Meurice experience. Think of your favorite actor, musician, artist, politician—they’ve all stayed here. Le Meurice is the epitome of luxury, so you bet people are going to brag about their stay. The 19th-century hotel, sporting a classic example of Louis XVI style, has a two-Michelin starred restaurant, is just a short stroll to the Louvre, and has many rooms with impressive views of the Eiffel Tower. Salvador Dali was a huge fan, so there’s a restaurant dedicated to him as well. If you’ve got the cash, you might want to go for the Belle Etoile Suite, a massive, 3,230-square-foot space with a 2,700-square-foot terrace. That’s right, the terrace is almost as big as the suite, and the direct views of the Eiffel Tower are larger than life. Expect to throw down about 13 grand a night, though. The basic suites are still plenty extravagant, boasting 535 square feet and will only setting you back $1,200 a night.

  • Four Seasons Hotel George V Paris

Four Seasons Hotel George V, Avenue George V, Paris, France
    View Map

Refined, elegant, sophisticated, graceful…. Four Seasons Hotel George V Paris is every classic five-star hotel rolled up into one, an example of textbook elegance. It might not be quite as ostentatious as other Parisian luxury hotels, but it has all the works: rooms with chandeliers, private terraces, views of the Eiffel Tower, and more. It’s in a landmark, 1928 building, so while it doesn’t have the centuries-old architecture of some other nearby options, it’s still quite historic. You can shack up in the Four Seasons Suite ($3,000 a night), which is cleanly designed and huge, with springtime hues (sort of an Easter-themed color palette). This starts at 700 square feet (with a separate parlor and full marble bathroom). If you splurge, the 1,368-square-foot Empire Suite ($12,000) is in the style of the opulent hotels like Le Meurice and Plaza Athénée, and they’re furnished with statues, armoires, about a gazillion mirrors, and of course views of the Eiffel Tower from your private terrace.

  • The Peninsula Paris

Hôtel The Peninsula Paris, Avenue Kléber, Paris, France
    View Map

The Peninsula Paris is one of those hotels where you walk in and just gawk at the ostentatious, over-the-top details. You’ll question everything: why did they dip the front desk in gold? Why do they have a $4-billion chandelier? Why does my $20,000 Gucci suit feel cheap? So, when we say Peninsula Paris is over the top, we really mean it. It is glamorous, almost too glamorous, which is why high rollers love it here. The lobby lounge has a cigar room, the restaurant has beautiful Eiffel Tower view and there are only 200 rooms in the hotel, so things still feel intimate. Since it’s in a historic building, not all the rooms are alike, but all of them are luxurious. The Junior Suite (shockingly not the lowest tier suite with an average 600 square feet at $1,100 a night) feels more like “modern” Paris, with paintings, decadent headboards, and a huge walk-in closet. The bathroom has more jewels than you’ve probably ever seen. The Garden Suite is the one to brag about. On the top floor, this suite’s private garden terrace boasts views of the Eiffel Tower and the rooftops of Paris. Not only is this suite a huge duplex, spanning 1,453 square feet, you also get access to a MINI Cooper to get around the city during your stay. For $3,800 a night, this is actually a steal. And, by the way, these are not the top suites. There are even more baller suites, which goes to show the kind of clientele this hotel is catering to, but they’re multiple bedrooms, which you do not need (unless you were planning to bring your in-laws on the honeymoon, of course.)

  • La Reserve Paris

La Réserve Paris Hotel and Spa, avenue Gabriel, Paris, France
    View Map

La Reserve Paris has the feel of a high-end, private member’s club. The former 19th-century mansion was once owned by fashion designer Pierre Cardin, but now it’s a posh 40-room hotel. French architect and interior designer Jacques Garcia gave it that magic touch (he also designed Nomad Hotel in NYC and La Mamounia in Marrakech, if you know your hotels), so expect old-world attributes with modern sensibilities. In terms of amenities, there’s a subterranean spa (with a 56-foot pool), private trainers at your service, and a two-Michelin star restaurant. You’ll be staying in one of a number of seriously swank, contemporary rooms with antique furniture and mirrors that double as TVs. Your girl will love it because it’s just steps from Champs-Élysées. Any of the suites are baller, but one of the better options is the Duc de Morny Suite ($4,100 a night), a 1,200-square foot, lavish “residence” with marble fireplace, full bar and massive lounge. A standard room here starts at $1,200 (without balcony, lounge, or fireplace), so the suite is not that much of a huge splurge, and a Prestige Junior Suite starts at $1,600. Note: only a few suites have views of the Eiffel Tower, so if this is a priority, you have to request them.
