I have been thinking the same thing. I am going SUPER cheap because all they do is throw them away. I also got a personal website that does the RSVP's on it. The Most important thing ,that set your budget for the wedding invitation.According to that ,you plan it. Don't forget with response cards you have to address and add postage to that envelope! Also make sure that you do not have to pay extra postage for a bulky or weird shaped card. I had one picked out that was square, I was going to have to pay double poastage to send them.If you want more option of wedding invitation ideas and get from it.

As far as wedding invitations, the time frame depends on how far away your guests are coming from. If they are mostly out of town guests, send them out earlier. If they are local guests, send the invitations out a four or so weeks ahead of time. Make sure you have your wedding invitations done, filled out, with a stamp on them, so you do not have to worry about that last minute. |

If you have a limited budget, as most brides do, you may not be able to afford to pay for the additional guests. Your reception may have a strict limit on the number of guests you can invite, and allowing single friends to bring a date may mean you have to leave someone else off the guest list. |

We sent out ours 6 weeks before the wedding because we were shopping around for awhile. Everywhere was just too expensive and we didn't want to spend too much on them. We found some really good looking ones and inexpensive at modishinvitations.com

If you want something simple and not formal, look at vistaprint.com. I haven't used them for wedding invitations, but for other events. They are high quality and very affordable.

As of me, the best time to send invitation is 2 weeks before the weding, so that they can prepare very well.
