Chicks man Chicks. That's what this is all about. You have to be with the same woman for the rest of your life and you want to play paint ball? Is your Mom going to come along and serve Hot Pockets?

Personally, I would have to agree with ThePlunge.com's advice that the bachellor party's primary objective is for the Groom to have fun. If dude wants to play paintball and have a blast while doing so, more power to him. This spiel your giving about paintball being nerdy serves only to reveal your insecurity about having a small dick. This is further reinforced by your not having gotten over highschool. Grats. Insofar as I have seen on this website, this isnt the place to overcompensate for your genital shortcomings. Try somewhere else, i.e. the comments section of youtube videos. |

Geez relax there Big. Some people like stripclubs, others like paintball. We actually combined our party and everyone played paintball, then went to a steakhouse. Neither of us cared about a traditional "Bach" party , we just wanted to hang with our friends. The whole idea ofa bachelor party being the guys last night of freedom is bullshit anyway, as far as Im concerned. You sound like a real prize to be married to. "You have to spend the rest of your life with one woman..." No, you dont have to do anything. You are choosing to get married hopefully. Your choice. If you dont want to, then dont. But dont get married and then try to act like its the worst thing in the world to do. Make up your mind here. Youre getting married, not losing your identity. Unless youre marryinga total bitch, well then yeah, youd be losing your freedom. But when I got married, I gained a lot of new cool friends. My husbands friends. And he gained mine. So if you wanna go to a stripclub, go to one, good for you. But no need to insult everyone else who chooses to something a bit more imaginative. Its really common today for guys to go golfing, camping, out to dinner, or, yes, play paintball. And no, thier moms dont come with them. Moms suck at paintball. |

Wow. There is alot of hostility towards nerds around here. To tell you the truth, my bachelor party is going to be an extended version of all the stuff me and my buddies like to do when we get together. We are all from Atlanta so we are going to stay in city and rent a suite at the Marriott Marquis, one of the nicer hotels in Atlanta. Split the cost its like 30 a person for 2 nights. The suite has 2 rooms and two flat screen tvs so (yeah nerdy) we are going to have a LAN party with a couple xbox 360s then we are going down the street to The Cheetah, one of the better strip clubs in the city and probably at some point hit a Braves game or something. Even though we all live in the same city I thought the suite was a good idea to keep us all together the whole weekend so its like a vacation but not. |

As someone who heartily enjoys both nightlife debauchery and Halo.... I think that sounds like a hell of a plan. That's what it's all about -- doing shit you enjoy with your friends. Why pretend to have fun doing stuff you don't actually like to do? That makes no sense. Your agenda might not be perfect for everyone, but all that counts is that it's perfect for you. (And yes, I'm fully aware that that's the cheesiest thing I've ever written on this site.) |

I know my guys are planning an event that has more hype than our usual shenanigans. We're a bunch of nerds, and yes nerds rule the world now, so they're going to (I think if what they've mentioned is what will happen) split the event in two.
The first half will consist of dinner at a nice restaurant where we can have. This will be nice for the guys who are coming who are older. After that the rest of us my age are peeling off and going for some laser tag, mini golf, and drinking. I think ThePlunge's article is dead on. This is a time to really connect with each of our friends and important people in our life. If that is at a strip club then go for it (not my bag) or if it is at a LAN party that's cool too.
The important bit is just spending quality time with these guys. Sure we'll hang out and see each other after the wedding but things will be different. Instead of hanging out with the guys a few times a week we'll be hanging out with them maybe once a week and spending the rest of the time with our wives. That's not bad it is just different and for me I think that is great.
I also view the bachelor party as a way to let each guy know that they're still important to me and that although our friendships will be growing in a new direction, the friendships won't be going away because I'm wearing a new ring on my finger, living in a new place, and being married to someone wonderful. As guys I don't think we like to be emotional (some more than others) but deep down everyone likes to know they're special and to feel appreciated. This party is a two way street to let all of us know that we value each other.
