Hey guys and gals,
First off, I`m new to this site and this forum, so hey, how's it going, what's up? Secondly, everything I`m about to say is as an independent person not associated with any company; meaning, I am not making any money off of this recommendation, this is purely because I feel this is a absolutely mind blowing backelor party and I wish more people knew about it.
Houseboating in Shuswaps....let me lay the scene for you. Shuswaps is a big, deep beautiful lake in central British Columbia that has cliff diving, waterfalls, fishing, the works. There are cabins on this lake but it is so big that you never have to worry about noise reaching these cabins from anywhere you will be with your houseboat.
The houseboats are unbelievable. Depending on your budget you can start with basic luxury all go all the way up to a floating mansion. All of the houseboats however come with a hottub, a waterslide, a full kitchen, BBQ, tons of seating and bedrooms, bathrooms, and an upper sun deck. They're magnificent.
So, you essentially get a group of guys ranging from 10-30 dudes depending on the size of boat you want and how many friends you want to have there. There are several airports within an hour or two of either Salmon Arm or Sicamous, which are the two locations the houseboats leave from. You pile on to a boat with booze, food and maybe one shirt and a few bathing suits. And it begins...
I don`t want to give it all away, but you get the drift, you party all day with your best friends and you can jetski, powerboat (all rentable) go tubing and skiing, cliffdiving, climbing the waterfall, swimming, fishing, whatever you want. And at night, you dock on one of the beaches (Neilson Beach is the best) with anywhere from 50-100 other houseboats and it turns into a mile long beach party. And the next day you get to do it again. I've been to Vegas, Mexico, Cuba and Atlantic City for stags and nothing, in my mind, has come close to competing with Houseboating on the Shuswaps. The best boat rental site is www.twinanchors.com and if you`re looking for something different and awesome, I give it two thumbs up, ten stars, whatever the highest rating I can give is. Oh yeah, and except for getting there (if you live in Canada, it is easily driveable from anywhere in BC, Alberta and Saskatchewan, US its driveable from all states bordering BC and Alberta) the price is super reasonable, I`m doing a stag there this summer (my own actually) and for 22 guys our price, including food, gas, rental, and getting there is about 425 bucks, not including booze.
Have a good one guys
