My fiance and I just purchased a repo house for an amazing deal. The house and mortgage is in both of our names. When we first found the house, we both fell in love with it. But throughout the mortgage process, we encountered speedbumps that I dealt with (although most of them involved her finances). She was getting to the point where she wanted to back out of the deal. Ultimately, I fixed everything and we closed on the house. Now that we're fixing up the house, she keeps getting stressed out and frustrated by all the things that need to get fixed.
I realize that this is the absolute best time to buy a house if you can afford it (which we can easily, our mortgage payment is less than any 1-bedroom apartment). But not being married yet (we plan on getting married next year), do you guys think it was a good idea to buy the house? |
