My girlfriend and I have been together for about three years now, and I'm thinking about popping the question soon... which means I need to start shopping for the ring. I want it to be a complete surprise, but I also want it to be perfect. She's the kind of girl who will care more about the thought I put into the ring than the ring itself, which is almost more stressful than if she just wanted a huge rock. I know that she would want something very high-quality and classic, but I'm not sure where to go from there. Do you guys have advice as to what kind of metals or styles I should look for? |

I know finances are always a concern, but if possible you should get platinum for the band. If not platinum, then white gold. Most engagement rings that I have come across nowadays are platinum.
Also, don't be afraid to ask a sister, best friend, etc. Many girls give that information to their friends hoping you would try to elicit it. Just be judicious in who you ask. You don't want a blabbermouth who is going to ruin the surprise. |

One thing to look at that was brought to my attention by a family friend is that the prices for a one karat diamond is much higher than that of maybe a .96 karat. This is just so they can say: "yeah its a one karat." Because of this fact diamond cutters will go to any length to got to that one karat mark they will cut corners, use a less valuable stone or cut and pretty much do anything to get there. If you were to buy just under 1 karat- anywhere from .84-.97 you'll not only save a bundle, but also you will end up with a better quality, better color, more valuable stone rather than a big piece of garbage. Also if you go to a jeweler and ask to see a one karat stone then ask to see a similar cut .92 stone you can barely barely tell the difference. I got an incredible diamond that was .78 and anyone that sees it wont shut up about it. Its Well Cut which means any light that goes in comes right back out and is almost perfect color. Its a great looking diamond for a fraction of the one karat price. |

Thanks so much for your help! I've actually been doing a considerable amount of research, and I'm very confident that platinum is the right choice for the ring. The number of carats of the diamond is not nearly as important to either of us as the metal, and I don't know how she could not go crazy over platinum... it's the most rare and the most durable of the precious metals. Anyway, if anyone has any input on this ring, I'm pretty sure I'm going to go with something along these lines...

I know this guy has probably already proposed (congrats!), but take it from a girl: There is NOTHING wrong with letting her pick out her own ring. My fiance proposed ringless, set a price tag for me, and let me design my own perfect ring. We ended up with something I absolutely love that was nowhere near as expensive as he had expected.
Just a thought. =P |

Before Sons of Anarchy dvd box set 1-3 became one of the funniest men in the movies with such classics as The Naked Gun series, Drop Dead Diva dvd was actually a very serious actor. Most Two and a Half Men dvd would have no idea of this fact. But yes, How I Met Your Mother dvd was a time. One of Dead Like Me dvd was the classic science fiction Forbidden Planet which was made in 1956. Sons of Anarchy box set 1-3 was directed by Fred Wilcox and written by Human Target dvd and Allen Adler. The premise of The Shield dvd was actually very simple. A spaceship, commandeered by Stargate SG-1 dvd, played by Nielson, was sent to the planet Alta to investigate the strange and sudden silence from the planet and the colony Cougar Town dvd was living there. When the spaceship arrives, Little House on the Prairie dvd discover that all but two of the colonists have died. The survivors are Dr. Morbius and his daughter Altaira. Somehow, Sons of Anarchy Seasons 1-3 Set survived the attacks of a terrible monster. Sons of Anarchy Seasons 1-4 box Set was played brilliantly by Walter PIdgeon and Stargate Atlantis dvd was played by the beautiful Anne Francis. The The Chicago Code dvd did a great job of showing her off. Nurse Jackie dvd explained to the crew what happened and all might have been well with his explanation but when Merlin dvd're going to stick around for a while Morbius almost goes into a rage and practically orders them to leave the planet, telling them that he couldn't be held responsible for what might happen to them. Well, that's all Adams had to hear. Now Sons of Anarchy Season 4 dvd set was more determined than ever to stay and find out Californication dvd was really going on. Needless to say, Modern Family dvd prompted the monster to come out and attack one of the crew members in the ship itself. Morbius, upon hearing of this, told Adams that Sons of Anarchy box set 1-4 was warned to leave. But Sons of Anarchy Seasons 1-4 Set as more of a Damages dvd was convinced that Morbius knew more than Sons of Anarchy Season 4 box set was letting on. Finally, The Tudors dvd gives Adams and Doctor Ostrow, played by Warren Stevens, a tour of the facility. Sons of Anarchy Season 4 dvd box set is when he tells the story of the Krell, the civilization that lived here millions of years before, a civilization more advanced than anything Law and Order Los Angeles dvd had ever seen. When asked what happened to the Krell, Sons of Anarchy Seasons 1-4 gave a vague answer. But during the tour The Best Of Soul Train dvd showed Adams and Ostrow a mind booster machine. Samantha Who dvd would ultimately lead to Adams discovering the terrible secret. |
