hey folks,
I'm new to this site and forum, so forgive me if you've heard this question a thousand times before.
I'm very seriouly thinking of getting engaged.
I'm 27 and have been with my girlfriend for over five years and we've lived together for two. We both have full-time jobs and our lives are great. Our relationship is great, so it's not really a question of IF we'll get engaged/married, but when.
Despite being together for a long time I had never given it much thought until recently when we started going to a lot of friends' weddings, and, her parents started giving me a bit of hard time about it. Always just playful ball breaking though.
Anyway, I guess my actual question is, should I get engaged just because it's probably time? Or do I have to wait for a "moment" when I know it's time?

I don't think you should get engaged beacause it's "probably time". You may know that you want to spend the rest of your life with her, but I think the moment would be much more romantic if you do it when you know it's time instead of when it's "probably time". My husband told me that I did something one day that made him think, "I want to marry this girl!" He went out and got the rings the same day! According to most guys I talk to, you'll know when the time is right! |
